10 Tips for Using LewerMark Student Insurance
Ten Tips for Using your LewerMark Student Insurance to prevent and treat illness
1.Start at Wheaton College Student Health Services (SHS) M-Th 8-5 p.m., Fri 8-4 p.m.
Almost all services are covered at 100%. SHS will submit the charges to LewerMark for you. Please note that charges will appear on your Wheaton College student account until the reimbursement check provided by LewerMark is received in about 30 days.
2.Get a flu shot at SHS because it is 100% covered if you have not reached the $500 per year limit on preventive services like vaccines and screenings.
3.Before you get sick download your LewerMark Insurance ID Card to be prepared
Log in anytime at LewerMark Wheaton College Web Site . Create a log in and choose Print Your ID Card. If you encounter difficulty try Chrome internet browser or call LewerMark.
4.A LewerMark representative is available to answer your questions through online chat M-F 8:00am-6:00pm. or call 1-800-821-7710
5.Call the LewerMark 24-hour free Nurse Line 1-866-549-5076 to speak to a Registered Nurse if you are not sure what to do. (Just to let you know these are not Wheaton College SHS nurses.)
6.If you are sick or get injured at night or on a weekend you can use your LewerMark insurance to see a medical provider in the community.
Choose an in-network First Health provider if you need to make an appointment with a medical provider at night, or on weekends, search at Search for a First Health Doctor, Hospital, or Pharmacy

Same day appointments at DuPage Medical Group Immediate Care Glen Ellyn M-F 10:00-am-10:00pm M-F, Sat/Sun 10:00-4:00 p.m. 1-888-693-6437 Office visit copay of $20 will apply.
Emergency Services are available 24/7 at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital Emergency Department. ER copay of $100 will apply.
7.If you are struggling with mental health help is available! The LewerMark plan covers up to 30 visits for in-person mental health services per year. In addition to counselors at Wheaton College Counseling Center and doctors and counselors in our community, LewerMark offers Morneau Shepell Student Support Program 24/7 at no cost. 8.Carry a paper copy or picture of your ID card on your phone to provide to a pharmacy. Prescription medications are covered at 100% at SHS, and 50% for each 30-day supply at a network pharmacy.
9.Be sure to respond to LewerMark if they reach out to you for more information about a claim. LewerMark may request that you complete a Claims Questionnaire to obtain more information about the medical services you received. The claim will not be paid until they receive this information from you.
10.Learn what items are excluded by the plan.
Services for vision, dental, certain conditions, and OTC (over-the-counter meds and supplies) are excluded. Payment for OTC items from SHS is due to your student account. Details are available in the 2019-2020 Plan Brochure.
